How do you take payments?

Cash or check is acceptable at the dock. Cash, check and venmo are all acceptable ways to make a deposit.

Is a deposit required?

Yes, a 30% deposit is required in order to lock in a preferred date.

What is the cancellation policy?

Trips cancelled more than 10 days prior to the trip will receive a full refund. If it is cancelled within 10 days or less, the client will lose the deposit. If the entire trip is cancelled due to weather, the client will receive a full refund. However- if the client cancels the trip due to rough seas or weather but the Captain is still able to go out and fish, the deposit will remain with the boat.

How many people can fit on one charter?

Up to 5 people can fit on a charter, plus the captain.

What type of boat will we be using?

We will be fishing on a Downeast boat, a 35’ Duffy.

What types of fish should we expect to catch?

The name of the game is Atlantic Bluefin Tuna. Giants (73” in length) are the goal but in order to catch them we will likely be catching mackerel, squid, herring, and whiting for bait.

Is all equipment provided?

All fishing equipment is provided but any clothing or rain gear must be brought onboard by the client.

Can I bring my own rod/tackle if I want?

Fastbreak is rigged to fish, so no additional rods, reels, hooks, or line will be necessary. Save up your stuff while you can!

Is there anything we should bring?

Bring applicable weather gear for the day, food and beverages that you’d like on the water, and a great attitude to attract the big fish.

Can I bring food/alcohol on the boat? Should we bring a cooler?

Bring as much food and drinks as you will need for the day. Alcohol is allowed, but it is important to remember we will be offshore and safety takes priority over everything- if someone is not being safe, the trip will be ended at Captain’s discretion with no refund.

What time of day does the charter begin?

Charters will often leave the dock around 5am. Give/take an hour depending on tides and weather.

Whats months of the year do you do charter trips?

Charters will begin in June and run through September

How early should we show up at the charter?

Show up just before the time specified to leave the dock, once you hop on board and get settled we can push off the dock.

Where do we show up to board the boat?

Smith Cove in Gloucester, MA. Address specified upon request.

Are there bulk discounts for multiple days/charters?

Yes we offer a discount for multiple charters booked at once.

What if I don’t know how to fish?

No problem there. Sit back, relax, and learn the ways on how to enjoy life on the water while chasing some of the world’s most amazing fish.

Is there an age limit for the charter? Can I bring my son/daughter?

Children are welcome, though we encourage ages 14+

Can we swim?

For safety reasons, swimming is not allowed on our charters.

Can we bring fish home?

Tuna fish caught that are between 48” and 72” in length are yours to take home if you would like. All giants (73” or greater) are required to be brought to the dock for sale by HMFS.

Do the attendees need a fishing license?

No licenses required for the clients.

Is there a dress code?

No dress code, just keep weather in mind.

Are we guaranteed to catch fish?

Our charters are setup to use tactics that have proven very successful in catching fish. However there are days when they are not biting and that is part of the game!

Should I tip the captain?

Gratuity for the Captain/Crew is not required, but always appreciated.

Are you insured?

Yes our charters are fully insured.
